Exploring the Collections of Museums and Galleries Online

The Mona Lisa is housed in the Musée du Louvre in Paris. You can type ‘Louvre’ into your search engine and follow the links to view many of the works in that vast collection. This is true of nearly all of the major museums and galleries.

A wonderful starting place for an exploration such as this, is a site called the Virtual Libraries Museum Page [VLmp] which is supported by the International Council of Museums (ICOM) at: http://vlmp.icom.museum.
This site has direct links to many of the major art institutions of the world.
