For advice on all aspects of parenting, and indeed, for a great one-stop shop for information on the 1st two years in general visit www.rollercoaster.ie.

Click on Parenting from the bar along the top of the page and you will see the options for parenting arranged thematically. Select from one of the highlighted topics displayed in the centre of the page, or from the longer list on the left-hand side of the page.

In this instance click on Discipline - easy to find in the centre of the page. Here, various options on the subject of discipline are arranged. Simply click on the option that you are interested in, for example Styles of Parenting, and you are taken to a clear and concise article, written in this case by Anne O’Connor, a child clinical psychologist.

This site contains a large amount of information on all aspects of the first two years. It is very easy to access, as is evident from the example above, and has plenty of useful links and ‘further reading’ suggestions.
